Description
Khatchkar (stone cross), 14th-15th century Commemorative stone typical of Armenian pilgrims who have visited a holy place.
Large central cross with interlacing decoration surrounded by four circles with capital letters that are classic abbreviations: ?? for Lord, ?? for God, ?? for Jesus and ?? for Christ. In the lower part, there are two small Byzantine crosses on either side of the central cross. In the lower part, a three-line Armenian inscription that Prof. Nersessian has translated as follows
