Radiant Reliquary (djadjandj / ??????) On the main side, the Resurrection of Christ surrounded by a cloud of cherubs. On the back, an undetermined relic in an oval glass case surrounded by a cloud of cherubs surmounted by the Lamb of God. Mounted on a tapered silver mantle engraved with an Armenian cross. Silver, gilt silver and vermeil. Constantinople, early 19th century. H: 50.5 cm. The djadjandj, an altar ornament linked to the Resurrection of Christ, is unique to Armenian liturgical furnishings. It may or may not include relics.
