Description
A memento of the LAFAYETTE Squadron. SPA 124 of the GC II/15 fighter group during the Second World War. Large, handcrafted pennant made of sturdy canvas, painted khaki, featuring the famous Sioux head on one side and a list of operational campaigns on the other, ranging from the 1939–40 French Campaign to the Far East Campaign. 46 x 79 cm. The pennant belonged to Chief Warrant Officer George Demeure, who enlisted in 1936 in Lyon as an aircraft mechanic and took part in all these campaigns until 1958. His personal service record book from the 1940 intake is enclosed.
