OMEGA SEAMASTER XVI REF. 2850 SC CIRCA 1956 18K yellow gold wristwatch on a leather strap. Case: round with cow-horn lugs, logo-marked crown, clipped caseback, engraved medallion on the reverse depicting the Olympic Cross of Merit. Dial: gold-coloured, applied gold arrow-shaped hour markers, dauphine hands, central seconds hand Movement: self-winding mechanical ‘bumper’ type, signed, cal. 471, No. 15294093. Strap: leather with gold-plated pin buckle. Replaced. Dial, case and movement signed. Serial number 11423213 Diameter: 34 mm. Gross weight: 45.24 g This historic model was presented at the Basel Fair in 1956. It commemorates the 16th Olympic Games, which were held in Melbourne at that time. Condition report: Scratched crystal, cracked and slightly stained dial. Minor scratches from wear and tear. The movement was functioning at the time of the appraisal but comes with no guarantee.
