Description
France - CUIRASSIER'S OFFICER LEATHERCOAT MODEL 1812/1825.
Polished steel cuirass, blackened inside, with traces of old rivets all around.
Lion's head shoulder straps, shoulder straps with curb rings and clasps decorated with gilt brass laurel leaf friezes.
Hooks for fastening the waistcoat inside.
Original shoulder straps, shoulder strap leather and leather ties.
Original buckle belt, leather replaced.
Some wear and knocks, otherwise good condition.
Surprising First Empire period cuirass later modified by abrading most of the rivets, probably under the Restoration to transform it to the 1825 regulation.
