France - CUIRASSIER HELMET MODEL 1845 and CUIRASSE MODEL 1825. Helmet. Steel bomb stamped 1195, dated 55 and attributed to "6" on rear. Crest with gadroons, marmoset, chinstrap with interlaced rings mounted on leather, gilt brass snap ring. Mane also stamped 1195. Red horsehair marmoset puff. Leather inner headpiece. Visor and nape bands. Strong leather turban covered with a black navy cowhide headband fastened at the back with a lace and eight eyelets. Wear from use, otherwise good condition. Polished steel breastplate, blackened inside. Brass shoulder pads on leather. Hooks for attaching the waistcoat inside. Original leather shoulder straps, leather straps and ties (leather restoration reinforcements to rear). Belt replaced. Backplate marked Manufacture Rale de Klingenthal Aout 1834, 3T 2L No1459, breastplate marked Manufacture Rale de Klingenthal Xre 1832, 3T 2L No2699. Some wear and dings, otherwise good condition.
