Maison Roméo by Claude DALLE. Two bronze "Atlases" with a double black and gold patina, one bearing the world and the other an armillary sphere, presented on wooden bases in the imitation of veined black marble. Marked. Height 130cm excluding base. Total height approximately 178cm. Expert : Thierry Roche, Paris. Claude Dalle (1932-2018) In 1974, he created the Romeo company, which was to become a benchmark in interior design. He combined classicism, Art Deco, the 1960s and neo-classicism, playing with materials both contemporary, such as plastic, and antique, with a preference for gilded bronzes. From furniture to interior design, he covers every facet, from lighting and tableware to decorative panels and even a range of upholstery fabrics. An eclectic but top-of-the-range clientele come to him for furniture, looking for a different approach to decoration through his creations. His main shop was on rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine, and he later opened a branch in Cannes in search of new wealthy buyers.
