Description
A ‘à la Tronchin’ table in mahogany and mahogany veneer. It is rectangular in shape and features a top upholstered in leather with a small iron-stamped emblem. The top is fitted with a rack-and-pinion support that can be adjusted to suit the working position. The apron opens via two side pull-handles and a drawer that can be converted into a writing desk. The piece rests on a square, sheathed base finished with small brass feet. Dated from the early 19th century. NB: No writing surface pull-out in the drawer. Small crack on the inner panel and restorations to the veneer, which has been discoloured by sunlight. H. 74 – D. 56 – W. 88.5 cm.
