Description
A dressing table in mahogany and mahogany veneer, opening via two drawers at the front; the central flap reveals a mirror, whilst the side flaps open to reveal storage compartments. The uprights are fluted and extend into tapered legs. Stamped J.B VASSOU. H. 74 – W. 81 – D. 48 cm. Restored. Jean Baptiste VASSOU (1739–1807). Eighteenth-century French joiner and cabinetmaker. Granted master’s status on 28 January 1767. He became renowned for his Transition and Louis XVI period furniture.
