Dial signed VULCAIN, circa 1935 Octagonal pocket watch in 18-carat yellow gold (750 thousandths), formerly owned by Miguel FLETA (1897–1938), a Spanish tenor who performed in Mexico, where this watch was presented to him as a memento by the theatre’s general manager, A. De Segurola. The case back is engraved with the inscription in Spanish: ‘A Miguel Fleta, un recuerdo de sus triunfos en Mexico’. The silver-coloured guilloché dial (with oxidation marks), signed, features a railway-track minute track and Roman numerals, a recessed seconds sub-dial at 6 o’clock, and Breguet-style hands. Manual-winding mechanical movement (not running). Dimensions: 40 x 40 mm. Condition: Fairly good (shock marks and dents). Gross weight: 52.4g
