BACCARAT (Crystalworks) "Tournoi" A colourless crystal cylinder vase lined with turquoise, featuring a relief-engraved design enhanced with gold applied by brush on a moiré background. H: 30.5 cm History: The decoration on this vase is likely inspired by one of Barthélémy d’Eyck’s illustrations for René d’Anjou’s “Treatise on the Form and Arrangement of How Tournaments May Be Held” (or “Book of Tournaments”) by René d’Anjou (circa 1450–1460), the original illustrated manuscript of which is held at the Bibliothèque nationale de France (Manuscripts Department, Français 2696). A “Tournoi” (“Tournament”) A colourless crystal vase lined with turquoise-tinted crystal by Baccarat, featuring an etched and gold-painted design on a moiré background.
