Hans Jacob BAYR (after). Minerva leading the Allegory of Painting towards the liberal arts. Chiselled bronze medallion with a nuanced brown patina. 19th-century work. Diameter 26 cm. (Signs of wear, scuffs, oxidation and minor distortions).
A comparable bronze model, cast around 1600 and attributed to Hans Jacob Bayr, is held at the National Gallery of Art in Washington (inv. no.: 1992.55.18).
