The box is shaped like a house, with two ogival windows on the front housing figures of the Virgin and Saint John, corners flanked by pinnacles, and a gabled roof with interlocking scale-pattern tiles; the reverse side is decorated with symmetrical foliage scrolls; a faceted stem with a gadrooned knot adorned with six cabochons, each centred with a rose; a multi-lobed base. 15th century.
