A pair of armchairs in moulded beech wood, carved with flowers and leaves. Trapezoidal seat, with three curved sides and upholstered, on a carved frame and curved legs. Matching curved, upholstered backrest. One example signed by J*B Lerouge (Jean-Baptiste Lerouge, master craftsman 1749) and bearing the guild mark. France. Louis XV period, c. 1750. ‘Gros-Point’ tapestry depicting flowers and fruit. H_70 cm, W_75 cm, D_99 cm (Signs of wear and some missing sections).
