Description
A very fine perfume fountain in rock crystal and cut crystal, with chiselled and gilded bronze. It features a covered vase, baluster-shaped with a pomegranate-shaped handle. On the front, it is fitted with a tap decorated with reeds, set within a marine grotesque mascaron. The shell-shaped basin rests within an openwork mount, embellished with floral and foliage rocaille. Paris. Louis XV style. 19th-century. H_ 29 cm W_ 25 cm D_ 23 cm Damage, losses and restorations. This perfume fountain is sold with a wooden case, in which it was stored, bearing the combined coats of arms of Pierre de Bonnafos and Marguerite Marie Carrelet de Loisy, with the coats of arms reversed.
