Description
A pair of planters on gilded bronze pedestals, with two side handles formed from scrolls and acanthus leaves.
The front face is adorned with a fragment of Meissen porcelain set into the centre and secured by an antique fastening system comprising square metal nuts.
The porcelain is decorated in polychrome with a lively scene featuring figures in court dress in a wooded park in front of a palace, set within a multi-lobed medallion edged in gold against a purple background.
The porcelain dates from the 18th century, circa 1740; the bronze from the first third of the 19th century.
