Description
A beautiful chest of drawers with a crossbow-shaped front, made of violet wood veneer and decorated with a counter-curled pattern within banded frames. It opens to reveal three rows – highlighted by dark brass fluting – of four drawers with oak fronts, two of which are in the top row. The sculpted sides are decorated in a similar style. The upright, curved and tapered front legs rest on small, arched feet. Rocaille-style bronze fittings, chiselled and gilded: lock plates, foliage-decorated handles, apron, drop pieces and applied feet. Top in Aleppo breccia marble with a corbin motif. Stamped: FG.
