Description
A rectangular console table in carved, lacquered and gilded wood. The blue-backed frieze is adorned with a band of foliage scrolls and gilded fleurons, highlighted by water-leaf mouldings and rows of pearls. It rests on four tall, tapered and fluted legs, the upper sections of which are embellished with large carved and gilded acanthus leaves. The spandrels and connectors are adorned with foliage motifs and volutes. The legs are joined by an X-shaped crossbar with carved and gilded decoration, centred on an oval medallion within a leafy border. White marble top with grey veining, moulded. Italy.
