A chiselled and gilded bronze clock with two enamelled dials: one with a rotating ring indicating the hours, the other a circular calendar dial signed ‘J.Bte.Gillan/APARIS’ within a celestial border, in the shape of an urn adorned with garlands of fruit bearing a salamander whose tail indicates the hours, resting on a base decorated with two goat’s heads, garlands of foliage, laurel wreaths and ribbons; the bevelled plinth is decorated with small flowers in the corners
