An exceptional, very fine, antique and rare Kachan Mortachem in silk.
Velvet, warp, weft and fringes in silk; 100 per cent silk.
Density approx. 9,000 knots per dm².
A golden-beige ground decorated with a foliage pattern of fine branches and slender palmette stems, featuring geometrically stylised ruby and ivory flowers framing a large, crenellated, geometric central medallion, lilac, sky blue, pearl grey, ruby, ivory and Prussian blue, featuring star-shaped flowers in the form of stylised diamonds.
Four antique gold spandrels with motifs echoing the central field.
Main border in old rose and lilac, featuring an original design of symmetrical rows of fan-shaped floral wreaths surrounded by very finely drawn flower buds.
Remarkable finesse, beautiful colour scheme, a collector’s item.
