Adolphe Appian (1818–1898) – A Noria in Bordighera. 1873. Etching on laid paper. Signed and dated in the upper left corner of the plate. In good overall condition, with all margins intact. Plate: 20.6 x 29 cm; sheet: 31.5 x 44 cm. This is actually believed to be Bordighera in Italy. The noria is the predecessor of water pumps.
