Florimond Van Acker (1858–1940) – Exhibition of the Golden Fleece and Dutch art on the Dukes of Burgundy in Bruges. 1907. Printer: DeHaene Bodart. 56.5 x 36.5 cm. Original poster, lithograph, unmounted. Condition A-, a small vertical tear in the upper section, minor creases and tears at the edges of the margins. To mark the inauguration of the new port in this iconic Belgian city, a major exhibition was organised celebrating the city’s golden age in the 15th century. To evoke that era, the artist chose to depict Philip the Good and to write the text in Gothic uncial script.
