Georges Brandt Bridgman (1864–1943) – Triumph. Circa 1886. Printed by Reynolds. Original poster, lithograph, unmounted. Condition A-, dusty, one original vertical crease, small marginal tears. This satirical political poster relates to the failed Home Rule Bill, which sought to grant Ireland autonomy whilst remaining under the control of the British Crown. Brought before Parliament by William Gladstone, it is he who is depicted being carried away in the wheelbarrow. A rare poster.
