A circular plaque depicting a profile bust of the Countess of CAYLA in red hard wax. Old sales labels bearing the inscription: ‘Countess du Cayla, favourite of Louis XVIII (original piece) signed Pigalle’ ‘No. 131’. Zoé Victoire Talon, Countess Achille de Baschi du Cayla, born on 25 August 1785 at the Château du Boullay-Thierry, died at her château in Saint-Ouen on 19 March 1852, was a French lady who was the confidante and favourite of Louis XVIII. Signed Pigalle. Presented in a walnut wooden box. 19th century. Wax diameter: 10.7 cm – Box diameter: 12 cm Some damage.
