Description
Pierre Alechinsky (1927-2024) - Autumn Festival in Paris, 1972. Paris. Printed by Arte, Paris. 60x40cm. Original poster, lithograph. Not canvas-backed. Condition A. Perfect condition. Produced for the first edition of the Festival d'Automne in Paris in 1972, this poster was produced at a time when Alechinsky was already a major international figure. A founding member of the CoBrA group alongside Asger Jorn and Karel Appel, he established himself in the 1950s as one of the innovators of post-war European painting. His work was soon recognised by institutions, including the Museum of Modern Art, which devoted an exhibition to him in 1965, and by many major international collections. Close to the world of printmaking and lithography, he regularly collaborated with Parisian studios and developed a significant graphic work alongside his painting. This poster testifies to his participation in major international cultural events and his status as an established artist in the early 1970s. We also sell the same poster on a pink background.
