Produced for an exhibition of Alfredo Bonnefoit's work at the Galerie Matignon in 1970, this poster accompanies the work of an artist associated with expressive and sensual figuration, centred in particular on the female nude and pictorial matter. Bonnefoit developed a dense, carnal and gestural style of painting, in keeping with post-war European figurative research. The Galerie Matignon, based in Paris, helped to promote contemporary artists in the 1960s and 1970s.
