Description
Georges Braque (1882-1963) - Braque, Galerie Maeght, Paris . 72,5x51 cm. Original poster, lithograph. Not canvas-backed. Condition A. Perfect condition. Produced for an exhibition devoted to Georges Braque at the Galerie Maeght, this poster is part of the dissemination of the work of one of the major artists of the 20th century and co-founder of Cubism alongside Pablo Picasso. Braque developed a fundamental body of work marked by research into form, structure and pictorial space, from analytical cubism to his late series (Ateliers, Oiseaux), which are among the most poetic achievements of modern painting. The Maeght Gallery, a key player in modern art in Europe, played an essential role in disseminating his work after the war, notably through exhibitions and high-quality lithographic editions. Our poster is probably a trial proof.
