Description
Olivier Debré (1920-1999) - Centre d'action culturelle, Montbéliard, 1979. Printed by Desjobert, Paris. 88.5 x 51 cm. Original poster, lithograph. Condition A, perfect state of conservation. Produced for an exhibition of Olivier Debré's work at the Centre d'Action Culturelle de Montbéliard in 1979, this poster features a composition characteristic of his lyrical abstract painting, based on large fields of colour and broad gestures. A major figure in post-war French abstraction, Debré developed a body of work that he described as "landscape-signs", in which colour becomes a vector of emotion and a sensitive perception of the landscape.
