Description
Jacques Nathan-Garamond (1910-2001) - Monnaie de Paris, Opening of the new sales gallery - Imp. IPA, 1985. Colour lithograph, 58 x 40 cm. Condition A, perfect state of conservation. Not canvas-backed. This poster, created for the inauguration of the rue Guénégaud sales area, bears the signature of Jacques Nathan-Garamond, one of the greatest masters of post-war French graphic design. Known for his prestigious collaborations with Air France and his role in founding the Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI), Nathan-Garamond's aesthetic here is pure and geometric. The design, typical of his maturity, combines the institutional rigour of the Monnaie de Paris with a striking visual modernity. The use of symbolic shapes and bold colours underlines the prestige of the institution, while at the same time setting this gallery opening within a contemporary artistic dynamic.
