Description
Georges Feher (1929-2015) - Seaside. Original lithograph on wove paper, 45 x 65 cm. Signed in pencil by the artist and numbered 30/150 copies. Condition A, perfect state of conservation. This work is an emblematic illustration of the style of Georges Feher, a Hungarian-born artist associated with the École de Paris, whose work is characterised by a perfect synthesis of structural rigour and atmospheric sensitivity. In this view of the seaside, the artist simplifies the forms to retain only the essential, creating a composition of great clarity in which the horizon and the elements of the coastline are organised with almost architectural precision. The palette, often made up of subtle tones and coloured greys, captures the changing light of the coast with elegant restraint, avoiding descriptive chatter in favour of pure emotion. Feher's mastery of lithography allows him to play with broad flat tints that underline the serenity of the landscape and the depth of the marine space. The 65 cm format offers an open window onto a peaceful world, where the human presence is suggested by the very structure of the site. The hand signature and limited numbering confirm the authenticity of this print, testifying to Feher's place among the great landscape artists of the second half of the 20th century. It is a refined collector's item, seductive in its balance, sobriety and great quiet strength.
