This poster was created to promote Mobil's "Masterpiece Theatre" television series. The story follows a doctor who is a murderer. The play was adapted from the published Vincent Price. It was presented as part of Mobil's "Masterpiece Theatre" television series in 1979. David Palladini, a renowned American illustrator, was born on 1 April 1946 in Italy and immigrated to the United States with his family. He is best known for his work on the Aquarian tarot deck (1970) and its reissue, the New Palladini Tarot (1997), as well as for his illustrations for children's books, including Jane Yolen's "The Girl Who Cried Flowers and other tales" (1973). He studied art, photography and film at the Pratt Institute in New York. His style is influenced by Art Nouveau and Art Deco, with references to artists such as Alfons Mucha and Aubrey Beardsley. He has worked on numerous projects, including film posters, book covers and magazine illustrations. He also worked on Stephen King's The Eyes of the Dragon* (1987). Palladini lived and worked in several places, including New York, Jamaica and France, before settling in Newport Beach, California, where he died on 13 March 2019.
