Yvan Chermayeff (1932-2017) - Crime and Punishment. 1980. 116x76cm. Original lithograph poster. Not canvas-backed. Condition A+, perfect state of conservation. The poster was created to promote the television series Crime et Chatiments, broadcast notably on Masterpiece Theatre and presented in the United States. This historical drama series was well received and is considered a faithful adaptation of the work. Crime and Punishment (Russian: Преступление и наказание [prʲɪstʊˈplʲenʲɪje ɪ nəkɐˈzanʲɪje]) is a novel by Russian writer Fyodor Dostoevsky published in serial form in 1866 . It is a psychological novel that is one of the greatest literary works in history. The novel recounts the murder of an old pawnbroker and her sister by Rodion Raskolnikov, a former student from St Petersburg who has fallen into poverty, with a precise analysis of the evolution of the murderer's emotional state.
