Jean Baptiste Valadié (1933-) - Reflets de la femme. 1979. Printer Desjobert, Paris. 76x56cm. Original poster, lithograph, not canvas-backed. Condition A. Perfect condition. Original poster presenting the Valadié exhibition in Nantes, Loire Atlantique, at the Maison des Ingénieurs de Loire Océan. Born in Brive-la-Gaillarde in 1933, Jean-Baptiste Valadié is a painter, sculptor, engraver, draughtsman, lithographer and illustrator. He began his career at the Cours Charpentier in Montparnasse, and studied applied arts for four years before graduating in 1955. A post-war figurative artist, he developed a body of work centred on the female figure, characterised by elegant lines and controlled stylisation. Printed by the Desjobert studio, renowned for the quality of its lithographs, this poster is a good example of French graphic arts production in the 1970s.
