TCH. IV, 669. First edition. Vignette on the title page, 2 full-page engravings included in the pagination—highly curious illustrations depicting *Macrini Parasitogrammatici Hmepa* and *Vita Gargilii Mamurrae parasitopaedagogi*. Second in the middle of a kitchen is Pierre de Montmaur, royal professor of Greek and a freeloader famous for the sarcasm with which he regaled men of letters. This collection contains: Ménage’s *Poésies Françaises*, *La Pompe funèbre de Voiture* by Sarasin, and a *Dissertation on the Sonnets for La Belle Matineuse* dedicated to M. Conrart. These sonnets, composed at the Hôtel de Rambouillet and born of the rivalry between Voiture and Malleville, gave rise to passionate discussions. Bearing the coat of arms of Bréhant de Plélo (1699–1734), a renowned bibliophile (OHR pl. 1715, crests nos. 1 and 2).
