Boily, (2) folios, 209 pp., 7 pp. (key to the portraits); (1) folio, 240 pp., (5) folios, (key), fawn morocco plates, covers decorated with gold thread and fleurons at the corners with a mosaic of red bands, spine with raised bands in the same, internal dentation, gilt edges. The work caused a scandal because it featured satirical portraits of Louis XV, the Prince of Conti, the Marshal of Saxe, Maurepas, Argenson, the Cardinal de Tencin, the painter La Tour, Madame de Pompadour, Madame de Boufflers, and many others.
