FURETIÈRE, Antoine – A Collection of the Pamphlets by Antoine Furetière of the Académie française against certain members of that Academy. Followed by the evidence and historical documents provided in the 1694 edition, with an introduction and historical and critical notes by Mr Charles Asselineau. Paris, Poulet-Malassis and de Broise, 1858–1859. 2 vols. in-12, (2) ff., LXVII, 352 pp., (1) f.; (2) ff., 380 pp. (1) f. (Poulet-Malassis watermark), paper slightly yellowed, midnight blue half-chag, decorated ribbed spine, gilt head. The title page of Vol. I is dated 1858, unlike known copies (1859). This is an early proof with a few flaws (two tables of contents, page 330 unprinted).
