In-16, portrait, (2) folios, 300 pages, paper slightly yellowed, ivory vellum. LEVER 203. SAUVY (Confiscated Books) no. 716. Translated from the German. Episodes from the Queen of Sweden’s stay in Rome following her abdication. The portrait is a reduced version of the one engraved by Robert Nanteuil to serve as the frontispiece for Georges de Scudery’s work, ‘Alaric, or Rome Vanquished’, published in 1654 and dedicated to Queen Christina of Sweden.
