LUYNE, Albert de] – A collection of the most curious documents drawn up during the Constable’s reign to the present day, as shown in the following table. S.l., 1622. Small 8vo, (20) folios, 516 pp., paper slightly yellowed, brown grained calfskin, decorated ribbed spine, cap ends restored. LACHÈVRE IV, 33. SHF 2376. ‘These works date from 1619 to 1622. It includes works by Fancan, one of the most remarkable pamphleteers of the time.” A collection directed against Albert de Luynes (1578–1621), whose career culminated in the removal of Concini (1617). It includes, for example: *The Constable’s Horoscope, with the Master Key to the Favourites* – *Rejoicing throughout France, especially amongst all good Frenchmen, at the death of the Constable*. It also includes numerous pieces in verse, including: *The Shadow of the Marquis d’Ancre over France* – *The Queen’s Reveries* – *The Remonstrance to Théophile* (by Viau).
