L'ELITE (L') DES POESIES HEROIQUES - et gaillardes de ce temps. Paris, c. 1700. In-12, 94 pp., yellowed paper, stamp on the reverse of the title page, flexible vellum cover. An edition not cited by Lachèvre (III, 89–93), who describes editions from 1670 to 1695 under this title. Among the longer works it contains: *L’Occasion perdue recouvrée*, which Lachèvre (II, 178) states was written by Benech de Cantenac (c. 1606–1691), described as a ‘highly free play’ and long attributed to Corneille - *La Métamorphose des yeux de Philis en astres* by Rotrou. It also contains verses by Regnier-Desmarais, Marie Catherine Des Jardins, Furetière, Philippe Habert, Mathurin Regnier, Gilles Boileau, etc.
