In-8, 56 pp., outer margins trimmed slightly short, pale calfskin, triple thread-bound. gilt on the covers, decorated ribbed spine, internal perforation, gilt edges. GAY III, 629. DUTEL A-812 (title reproduced). One of the three editions cited for the year 1776. ‘The author’s talent lies in continually skirting the very edge of the most blatant licentiousness whilst always maintaining a safe distance from it, to the extent that this trifle – as a connoisseur of the time might have put it – infinitely surpasses many others.’ (Dictionary of Erotic Works, 377).
