FRANÇOIS DE SALES – Introduction to the Devout Life. Latest edition. In which the whole work has been revised, corrected and expanded to include a treatise entitled ‘Admonition to Confessors’, by the same author. Rouen, Jacques Auber, 1622. In-12, (8) ff., 562 pp., (4) ff., small stains on the title page, paper slightly yellowed, old handwritten devotional note on the flyleaf, supple vellum endpapers, remnants of cords. Possibly an unknown edition. The first edition appeared in Lyon in 1609, swiftly followed by many others. This appears to be the last edition published during the author’s lifetime—he died on 27 December 1622—though he had previously published the edition considered definitive in Paris, with Joseph Cottereau, in 1619. (See *Works of Saint Francis de Sales*. Annecy Monastery, 1893, vol. III, p. XXIII). *The Admonition to Confessors* was first published separately in Lyon in 1617.
