Small 12mo, (6) folios, 154 pp., (1) f., yellowed paper, foxing, brown grained calf in the original style, decorated ribbed spine. PAPILLON II, 82. LACHÈVRE III, XVIII. Includes the dedication to Lanchenu, Lord of La Barollière, which is missing from most copies. First edition. Moreau (Dijon 1639–1699) was a Councillor to the King and Attorney General at the Chamber of Accounts of Burgundy. This collection contains ten short ‘Dialogues’ by Lucian, two eclogues, verses on the death of Seneca which formed part of a major Latin and French commentary on a pictorial riddle depicting Seneca’s death, as well as several sonnets, epigrams, songs, etc.
