Small 12mo, frontispiece, (7) folios, 171 (5) pages, midnight blue half-calf, smooth spine decorated with gold thread. GAY II, 6. LEVER 138. Follows the Paris edition, G. Quinet, 1690. Takes the form of an epistolary novel. The author thus warns his reader: ‘All the plots are true, and I have played no part in them other than that of bringing them to light. My sole purpose in writing this is to show how far Love leads us, and how dangerous its effects can be.”
