Published under the title *Le Comte de Dunois* (Paris, Claude Barbin, 1671). Dutch counterfeit. A tale of a forced marriage. The Marshal de Gié is in love with Mademoiselle d’Alençon, who does not love him: the Count de Dunois is his rival. The Marshal’s marriage, falsely claimed to be ‘for reasons of state’, is annulled, and the Count de Dunois marries Mademoiselle d’Alençon.
