Paris, Michel Guerout, 1688. 2 parts in one volume, small 12mo, (1) fol., 274 pp.; 84 pp., one folded plate of musical notation., ROCHAMBEAU 613, no. 20. LACHÈVRE IV, 48. Second volume of the *Mercure Galant* published for the month of December 1688 with a separate title: *Campaign of His Highness the Dauphin*. It comprises two parts. The first is an account of the siege of Phillipsburg (1688) by Donneau de Visé. The second, entitled *Recueil de divers ouvrages faits à la gloire de Monseigneur le Dauphin, sur la prise de Philisbourg* (sic), contains 33 pieces by various authors (Barbier d’Aucour, Deshoulières, Le Pays, Ch. Perrault, etc.). Two of these, signed ‘La Fontaine’, are probably first editions according to Rochambeau: ‘Vers à la manière de Neu-Germain’ (p. 25) – ‘Balade sur le nom de Hardy’ (p. 27).
