COLLECTION OF HEROIC — and gallant POEMS of this age, expanded to include several pieces not yet published in previous editions (à la sphère). N.p., 1712. Small 12mo, 141 pp., green half-morocco in Bradel style, plain spine with decoration (C. HONNELAÎTRE). GAY III, 967. Appears to follow on from *The Elite of the Heroic and Gaillard Poems of the Present Age*, published in 1670. Among the longest pieces it contains: *L’Occasion perdue recouvrée*, which Lachèvre (II, 178) states was written by Benech de Cantenac (c. 1606–1691), described as a ‘highly free piece’ and long attributed to Corneille - *La Métamorphose des yeux de Philis en astres* by Rotrou - an anonymous play: *Zaga-Christ ou la mort du Roy d’Ethiopie*. Also contains verses by Regnier-Desmarais, Marie Catherine Des Jardins, Furetière, Philippe Habert, Mathurin Regnier, Gilles Boileau, etc.
