BEYS, Charles de – *Le Jaloux sans sujet*. Tragedy-comedy. Paris, Toussainct Quinet, 1636. , (3) ff., 108 pp., First edition dedicated to Cardinal de Retz. Charles Beys (1610–1659) was a friend of Colletet and Scarron. He was imprisoned in the Bastille on suspicion of having written against Richelieu. His most famous comedy is *L’Hôpital des fous* (1635). Romantic intrigues in which the heroine’s lover becomes jealous of a false rival whom he himself has introduced to his mistress.
