An Italian-style album, in full purple glazed calfskin, with gold decoration on the covers featuring motifs of a garland of foliage, a neoclassical cinerary urn and a musical trophy (bound c. 1800)
Album dimensions: 12 x 20 cm
It contains around fifteen drawings, the majority of which date from the early 19th century:
Studies of Gothic monuments
Study of a neoclassical commemorative monument
Various genre scenes rendered in the caricature style
R. Petitjean, a prisoner in chains, pen and black ink, signed and dated 1837
Landscape studies, pen and wash
Watercolour studies of Oriental figures, etc.

Norblin de la Gourdaine (1745–1830) in the style of Rembrandt (1606–1669), Head of a bearded man turned to the right, etching (18th-century print)
