Quarto, loose-leaf, with an illustrated cover and publisher’s slipcase; an illustrated edition featuring 26 etchings by Léonard Tsuguharu Foujita, including 11 in colour on marbled paper, 12 in black (including 4 with highlights), comprising the author’s portrait and the artist’s self-portrait, 2 initial letters and the cover. Limited edition of 315 numbered copies; this one is no. 231, one of 250 printed on large-size Arches vellum. The finest book illustrated by Foujita, published to mark his 65th birthday and dedicated to Paris and the Seine. It constitutes the third and final instalment – and the most sought-after – of Héron de Villefosse’s Parisian trilogy, alongside *Le village inspiré*, illustrated by Utrillo, and *Rive gauche*, illustrated by Vlaminck.
