Pocket knife Made of horn and wrought iron. The handle, made entirely of horn and curved, is finished very simply with a small, flattened shell. The blade is engraved with a pattern of solid lines, wavy lines and small flowers rendered in dotted lines. Bears the date: ‘1718’. The blade release catch is shaped like a bird’s beak. When closed, the knife resembles a brooding bird. Early 18th century Length when folded: 13.3 cm Signs of wear on the horn
